WHY
TANZANIA?
Handicapped people are automatically discriminated against
in Tanzania by an intolerable and non-understanding society
and for which, they represent a burden. In many occasions,
they find themselves without assistance, access to an education
and without the meanings to have a job.
On the other hand, Tanzania suffers the effects of the
HIV-AIDS pandemic. Children suffer the consequences the
most. A great number of children have lost their parents,
their love, their assistance and all access to an education.
Moreover, the population and even their relatives
reject these children for being orphans and for
the burden they mean to those still alive. Most of these
children end up in the streets, suffering
heinous attacks, being raped or falling
onto child labor, marking them for life in a psychological
as well as a physical level.
